Wow!!!! There is so much going on it is hard to know where to start!! I guess I will start at the beginning. (Yes college and grad school are paying off!!)
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT OZONE. We have begun a study on the Book of Acts called “Church As It Should Be.” We meet at 7PM every Wednesday night and offer up praise and worship to our King, Jesus!!!! We then we will look in God’s Word at the first century church and why they were so much more surrendered to Christ as compared to the 21st century American church.
ANGELS, DEMONS, AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE. Sunday nights at 6PM we will engage in some very deep biblical discussion of the spirit world. We will be looking at Angels and answering questions such as: What do they do and how do they relate to us? In regards to demons will answers questions such as: What are demons? Who is Satan? And how do demons and Satan relate to us? We will also explore the topic of Spiritual Warfare from a biblical perspective. This study is not for the faint of heart. It is not a game and you will see high the stakes really are and how intense spiritual warfare is on a day in day out basis. After our study we will go to the ROC (Gym) and have some food and unleash some steam. Parents drop your kids off at the Ozone at 6PM and pick them up at the ROC at 8PM.
SEE YOU AT THE POLE. September 24 is See You At The Pole. I time to pray for your school, teachers and friends in a dynamic show off solidarity with all the Christian brothers and sisters at your school. What I love about See You At The Pole is that it is totally student driven. You decide what you want to do and how you want to express your faith and love for Christ. Breakfast will be at 7:30 AM at the Greer Christian Learning Center and See You at the Pole will begin around 8:15AM. (we are selling shirts to promote SYATP. We have been blessed to have such a mission minded church. World Changers has been a missions opportunity that we have pursued for a long time. Last year we shifted gears a little bit and let Mission Serve help us in our mission endeavors for the summer. This year we shift again. Why? My desire is to see you have a well rounded missions experience in your years as a part of Fairview Baptist Church. World Changers is great with physical labor and earning the right to share the Gospel through selflessly serving others. However, you can stay on a roof and never really confront anyone about their need for Jesus. This year we want to give you an opportunity to be on the ground floor of missions with PowerPlant.
We had an amazing morning at our prayer breakfast and See You at the Pole. Middle school and high school students showed up in droves to show the Bride of Christ united in the mission to seek those unsurrendered to Christ and to give Jesus Christ maximum glory!!! It is always such a blessing to see students step up and lead in the mandate to “go and make disciples.” See You At The Pole started with a large time of group prayer. They then got in smaller groups to prayer for friends and the school. After that they came together again to lift up praises to Christ in song and the reading of Scripture. Finally they closed out their prayer time with one more plea to God to guide them as they accept the call to be missionaries on their campus. I was very impressed and moved by their love for each other, their burden for their campus, and their show of solidarity and love for Jesus!!
